Press <CLR> and four lines appear on
the LED display.
Enter the hour and minute (Zulu time) (see
Figure I-3 for Zulu Time Chart). Press <Sto/ENT> at the exact
time (resets seconds to zero).
Load the TRANSEC Key (TSK) into the radio. Turn the FCTN switch
to load variable (LDV) and the MODE switch to FH. Set the CHAN
switch to MAN.
Using cable W-4, connect J1 of the ECCM fill
device to the AUD/FILL port of the radio. Turn the fill device ON
and set the FILL DATA SELECTOR SWITCH to T1 or T2.
Press
on the radio keyboard and the TSK is automatically stored.
Load the common lockouts into the radio (if no lockouts exist, go
to step 6).
Turn the FCTN switch to LD and leave the MODE switch
on FH.
Turn the FILL DATA SELECTOR SWITCH on the fill device to
the location corresponding to the first common lockout. Press
on the radio keyboard; the display indicates the lockout
number and two-digit tag number.
Press <Sto/ENT> to store the
lockout in the radio.
Repeat these steps for each of the
remaining common lockouts, turning the FILL DATA SELECTOR SWITCH
on the fill device to the location corresponding to each of the
lockouts in turn.
Load the net lockouts into the radio. Leave the FCTN switch on LD
and leave the MODE switch on FH. Turn the FILL DATA SELECTOR
SWITCH on the fill device to the location corresponding to the net
lockout to be loaded into the radio.
Press
keyboard; the display indicates the net ID. To store the lockout
in the radio, press <Sto/ENT> which causes the display to prompt
for a channel number.
Next, use the numeric keys to enter the
channel number (1-6) that is used for this lockout.
Repeat these
steps for additional net lockouts to be loaded, using a different
channel number for each.
The radio is loaded.
Turn the channel selector (CHAN) to the
channel number where the lockout from step 5 is loaded.
The
display indicates the net ID if the radio is properly loaded. If
the radio is not properly loaded, the word FILL followed by the
channel number appears on the LED display indicating the radio is
looking for an additional fill.
Turn the FCTN switch to squelch on (SQ ON) or squelch off (SQ
OFF) .
If another radio is loaded with the same information, the
radios can communicate with each other.
Once a radio is loaded,
other radios can be loaded by Prforminq an ECCM Electronic Remote
Fill (ERF).

The following describes the frequency hopping operating procedures for a Non-
ICOM radio.
The procedures are part of the Operators Manual, TM 11-5820-890-
10-3.
Refer to the operators manual for more details on radio procedures.
The radio controls are shown in Figure I-1.
