RESETTING YOUR COMPUTERUnder certain conditions your computer may get into a state where it will notrespond to the keys you press.If you are sure that low battery voltage isnot the cause (if you are not sure, refer to “Low Battery Safeguards,”) youshould follow one or more of the steps in the following procedures:lReset the computer by pressing Shift CTRL Break. (Drives A and B arenot affected by this reset, but user memory is, and any work notstored to Edisc or a flexible disc is lost.) If the main PAMscreen appears, the computer has been reset, and you do not need touse any further steps.lIf the main PAM screen did not appear when you performed step 1,press Shift CTRL Extend char Break.(This resetting method has thesame effect on user memory as in step 1, above.) If the main PAMscreen appears, the computer has been reset and you do not need touse any further steps.lIf the main PAM screen did not appear when you performed step 2, turnoff the computer by holding down the contrast key.The displaywill darken to its maximum and then, after a few seconds, will turnoff .Press the contrast key to turn the computer back on. Thisresetting method has the same effect on user memory as in step 1,above.lIf, after performing all of the preceding resets, there is still noresponse, have your unit serviced by higher maintenance levels.Takea picture of what is occuring on the screen by turning on the printerand depressing the SHIFT and PRINT keys at the same time.Save thisprintout for use when reporting the incident.
