Figure 2-86 Item Number Identifier (INI)
In the INI, the left margin is a two-letter column starting with AA and
continuing in sequence.
Adjacent to this list, the Net Group numbers
(extracts) are in columns equating to five time periods. Net Control Stations
(NCS) challenge unknown/out-of-net stations with the phrase identify your
station.
Respond with the two-letter INI (left column) which equates to your
SOI item for that time period.
The NCS will then use the INI table to
determine the Net Group.
The NCS will find the two-letter INI and read across
the table to the correct time period and note the Net Group. The NCS will
then find the extract that corresponds the Net Group. Note that all Net
Groups should have their Net Group number in the title of the printed extract.
(see Appendix G, Section VI, page G-32)
G. SIGNS / COUNTERSIGNS
Use this option to print the signs/countersigns assignments for the five time
periods.
Use this option to perform the output portion of a merged operation. An
output merge operation takes data from the present database and outputs it to
a disk in a special format to be used when doing the input (see Merge, pages
2-52 to 2-56) of a merge.
Use a separate disk from the one used to store the
database; make sure it has been formatted.
Once this option is entered, the following message is displayed.
INSERT THE DISK TO CONTAIN THE MERGE DATA THAT WILL
BE PASSED FROM CORPS TO DIVISION
HIT RETURN TO CONTINUE
Next, the BGU displays the screen shown in Figure 2-87.
