Loosen two screws (1 and 2).
Move alternator (3) outward to tighten belt to
tension limit of approximately 1/2 in.
(10-15 mm).
Tighten two screws (1 and 2).
Check belt tension. If necessary, repeat steps
1 and 2 to maintain 1/2-in. tension limit.
NOTE
Follow-on Maintenance:
Install outside engine hood (page
4-388).
