ENGINE OIL FILTER ELEMENT AND BOWL REPLACEMENT (CONT)

INSTALL new packing (1), new seal (2),
spring holder (3), and new filter ELEMENT (4)
in filter bowl (5). IF REPLACING filter BOWL,
INSTALL PARTS in new bowl.
APPLY light COAT of LUBRICATING OIL on
top EDGE of filter element gasket (4).
INSTALL filter BOWL (5) and TIGHTEN BOLT
(6) to 30 ±7 Ib-ft (40 10 N.m).
INSTALL SCREW (7) and TIGHTEN to 11 ±2
Ib-ft (15 ±3 N.m).
INSTALL oil sample VALVE (8).
FILL filter BOWL (5) with lubricating oil
(LO 5-2420-224-12) through fill plug (9).
START ENGINE and check for leaks.
SHUT OFF ENGINE and check engine oil
(LO 5-2420 -224-12).
