Corps outputs the data which is to be merged with the Division to a
diskette using the procedures shown in Transfer, page 2-98. For this
discussion this disk will be referred to as Merge Disk C. The diskette
label should say, Corps merged database containing <list all data
contained on the disk>.
Also, the label should contain the following
information:
Hopset filename (if any)
TRANSEC Key Pair name (i.e. TSK#l)
Level at which the hopset was generated
Date generated or effective date
The diskette is then transferred to the Division.
At the Division, develop the Division database and remember to leave
nets 1201-1500 blank.
Use the SAVE TO DISK PAM selection to make a
master backup of the data base developed at the Division level which we
will call Database Disk A for this discussion.
The disk label should
say something similar to Division Master Database containing <list all
the data contained on the disk>.
Also, make a backup of the Division
database which we will call Database Disk B. This disk should be
labeled Division Database Backup.
At this point, Database Disk A and
Database Disk B are identical copies of the Division database. Merge
Disk C contains the data being merged from the Corps.
At the Division, load the Division database into the BGU.
Use the procedures in Merge, etc., pages 2-53 through 2-56 to merge the
data on the diskette supplied by the Corps into the Division database.
Merge only the parts identified on the label of the diskette.
Make new net groups or add new merged nets to the Division net groups
from the new data merged in from the Corps. Remember, the merged Corps
nets will reside in net numbers 1201-1500.
At the Division, generate frequencies and call signs for the Division
Database.
While performing the frequency generation the BGU will prompt
you with the following question:
IS THIS A MERGED DATA BASE (Y/N)?
Type a Y and press <RETURN>.
While performing a call sign generation the BGU will prompt you with the
following question:
Is this a merged corps data base (Y/N)?
Type a Y and press <RETURN>.
Next, the following question will be
displayed:
YOU ALREADY HAVE A GENERATED CALL SIGN FILE, DO
YOU WANT TO USE THE GENERATED CALL SIGNS IN THE
CURRENT FILE AS PART OF YOUR NEW FILE (Y/N)?
