OBTAINING SPARE FREQUENCIES
Spare frequencies are obtained from frequencies left over after the reuse
assignment.
The number of spare frequencies is calculated and entered on the
reuse worksheet.
f. REUSE WITH FREQUENCY HOPPING NETS
If a net is to operate solely in the single channel mode, the frequency
assigned to the cue.
If the net is to 0perate in the frequeny homing
is
mode,
the net is assigned a manual frequency in addition to the cue frequency. The
cue and manual frequencies needed for a frequency hopping net can also be
reused.
However, if a frequency is assigned as a cue frequency it is not
available for use as a manual frequency.
Because two frequencies are required for a frequency hopping net the number of
frequencies used in a SINCGARS reuse plan is doubled. There is a maximum of
2320 frequencies in the FM band.
1.
CUE FREQUENCY
The following is a list of characteristics of the cue frequency: (Terminology
associated with the new SINCGARS radio, previously referred to as the single
channel frequency)
o
Frequency in the range of 30.000 MHz to 87.975 MHz that is
divisible by .025 MHz or 30.000 MHz to 75.950 MHz that is
divisible by .050 MHz.
The frequency limits and channelization
are selected by the user.
The selection is dependent on the
radios being used.
The VRC-12 radios are limited to 75.950 MHz
and the CUE frequency must be a multiple of .050 MHz.
o
Bandwidth of 25 kHz
o
Single channel
o
Used to bring a user into a net
Example:

2.
MANUAL FREQUENCY
The following is a list of characteristics of the manual frequency:
(associated only with SINCGARS)
o
Frequency in the range of 30.000 MHz to 87.975 MHz that is
divisible by .025 MHz.
o
Bandwidth of 25 kHz
o
Single channel
o
Used for filling a radio remotely

FREQUENCY REUSE PLAN PRACTICAL EXAMPLE
You have been tasked to prepare a SOI for the 2D Brigade Task Force which has
SINCGARS radios (2D BDE, 2-78 IN BN. 3-62 AR BN, and MEDEVAC (WAR)). The
remaining units have VRC-12 Series radios (l-78 IN BN, 2-62 AR BN and all
