Every time the BECS has been zeroized, a new initialization vector must be
used to generate additional SOIs.
G-4 DEVELOPMENT STEPS FOR BECS SOI
Although BECS automates the generation process, the C-E officer must design
the SOI on paper first.
The remainder of this appendix describes how to
design SOI as well as how to fill out and use the worksheets.
The basic steps for designing and developing BECS SOI data are as follows:
1.
Get data from MTOE (Modified Table of Organization and Equipment)
which authorizes the use of personnel and equipment.
2.
Determine the doctrine to be followed.
3.
Determine what the commander desires.
4.
Observe and identify the situation.
5.
Restriction explanation worksheet.
